Tim McIntyre retired in 2004 at age forty-six from his position as president of Applied Systems after facilitating a successful sale of the large and profitable software company. At this crossroads in his life, he made the unusual decision to fully retire from his career to pursue other interests and simply enjoy free time. As a highly ambitious and energetic Type A personality, this turned out to be an unexpectedly significant challenge. After a lot of mistakes and setbacks, he eventually developed a system of concepts and detailed steps that allowed him to fully enjoy being retired. He chose to share this roadmap with other Type As by authoring I’m a Type A – How the Heck Will I Ever Retire? McIntyre’s book can help even the most energetic Type A personality learn how to positively anticipate, easily transition into, and truly enjoy the retirement phase of their life.
